Larimar is a Sound Therapist based in London who creates sound alchemy for relaxation; healing; shamanic journeying; inspiration of inner vision and empowerment. Most of Larimar’s music is live recorded sound meditations composed of vocal harmonics and healing instruments, such as the gong; Tibetan and crystal singing bowls; didgeridoo; berimbau; chakapa; drums and flute. Larimar’s fascination with music and sound begun in his early childhood, where hearing his own voice played back to him from a cassette recorder absolutely blew his mind. This led to recording stories as they played out in his mind as a little kid on a tape recorder gifted from his grandmother; playing around on his mother’s guitar; jamming with friends in a local park; and these days writing and recording music in his home studio. Introduction to the plant medicine called Ayahuasca in 2010, was a key moment in his life that inspired him to study Shamanism; Systematic Kinesiology; Neurokinetic Therapy; and Reiki. Spending many years working with plant medicines, Larimar has observed and studied the healing abilities of music and song. In parallel, during his practice of Capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian art form combining martial arts, music and philosophy), Larimar noticed similarities with the ritualistic use of rhythm and singing, and the effects it had on his well-being. Larimar considers sound healing to be an easily accessible and very effective form of complementary therapy, that yields profound results in helping people restore well-being. Through therapeutic application of vocals and instruments, a state of deep relaxation can be achieved. In this state of meditative awareness, not only are stress and stored emotions released, but also harmony and clarity are restored.
